To tell about religious reformation to the people of below poverty line means to add fuel to the fire. Therefore the world preceptor Shankardev advised the common people for cultivation of grams and Mungu etc. in order to create work culture in village level. As a result cultivation of rice, mustard seed, gram and mung was increased in all villages of Asam. During that period there was no other option but to produce necessary food by them- selves in villages. Because during the time of Shankardev, there was no supply of rice grain etc, to Assam from other states. In order to construct ‘Naamghar’, there was necessity of bamboo, thatch etc. Again there was necessity of bamboo etc to make bamboo made utensil for Naam Kirtan in Naamghar. So the people were engaged automatically in cultivation of bamboo etc. In the demand of necessity were growing in the villages through making khol, taal etc. Therefore, itis to be mentioned that Shreemanta Shankardev through his doctrine Ek Sharan Hari Naam Dharma and through work culture established green revolution and cottage industries in India.
