(B) COMPOSITIONS IN BRAJABULI (BRAJABHAASHAA OR BRAJAAVALEE) :
1) Ankeeya Naatak (Drama): Six Numbers –
(i) Kaaliya Daman,
(ii) KeliGopaal,
(iii) Patnee-Prasaad,
(iv) Paarijaat Haran,
(v) Rukminee Haran,
(vi) Shree Ram Vijay.
2) Bargeet (Classical Songs) : Total of Thirty five numbers of Bargeet composed by him have been found written in bhuja-patra. These are classical songs. Shankardev composed Raagas and the Raagas were time specific for his different Bargeets
3) The songs of Ankeeyaa Naatak : Shankardev composed hundred forty four songs for his ankeeyaa drama and there is definit raaga for each song.
4) Bhatimaa (Panegyric) : He composed three types of panegyric. e.g. (a) Dev Bhatimaa, (b) Naat Bhatimaa & (c) Raaj Bhatimaa.
a) Dev Bhatimaa : He composed total three numbers- two numbers in brajabuliand one number in sanskrit. He composed the sanskrit dev-bhatimaa in trotak chhanda and therefore in asameeyaa language it is known as totay.
b) Naat-Bhatimaa : This type of bhatimaa was composed for dramas. There are three types of naat bhatimaa & these are –
(i) Initial panegyric : Just after completion of invocation (called naandee), the sootradhaar of ankeeyaa naatak will sing the glory of the God Krishna by loudly uttering as Jaya Jaya Krishna. The character Sootradhaar created by Shankardev is a fundamental creation because it is not found aven in sanskrit drama. Sootradhaar acts as link-man between the drama and the spectators.
(ii) Middle Panegyric : The place of this panegyric is in the middle of the ankeeyaa drama.
(iii) Final Panegyric : The final panegyric is sung at the end of the drama and this is called as mukti-mangal-bhatimaa.
