FUNDAMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF EK SHARAN HARI NAAM
DHARMA ESTABLISHED, PROPOUNDED AND PROPAGATED BY
JAGAT GURU SHREEMANTA SHANKARDEV

a) During the creation of the universe the God Krishna (by taking the name Naaraayan) created Harinaam dharma. Brahmaa was born from within the naval-cord of Naaraayan and Shiva was born from the mid-point of the both eye-brows i.e. from mid-point of fore-head of Brahmaa. When Brahmaa Passed half of his life span, then the Naaraayan (Krishna) gave the four-versed Bhaagavat to Brahmaa and the Naaraayan advised him to propagate the knowledge of Bhaagavat in the world. After that Brahmaa gave the knowledge of Bhaagavat to his son Naarad. At last on request of Naarad, the great sage Vyaas composed the Mahaabhaagavat of twelve parts. Vyaas gave the Mahaabhaagavat to his son Shukamuni and Sukamuni imperted the knowledge of Bhaagavat to the king Pareekshit in front of twenty-eight thousand sages at the bank of river Gangaa at the juncture of dvaapar and kali yuga (era).
In tretaa yuga, Shiva and Naarad were also singing the glory of Raam- Naam in order to widely propagate the mysterious activities of Purushottam Shree Raam.
In dvaapar yug, both Shiva and Naarad analysed about the innumerable mysterious glory of Krishna-Naam and Shiva and Naarad declared that the Krishna-Naam is the donor of all success, it means fullfiler of all good-desires of human-being. In dvaapar era itself, Shree Krishna betowed the essence of Ek Sharan upon human race through the scripture Geetaa.
It is to be mentioned that in satya yug (first era of the world which began from the time of creation of the world) the Lord Krishna came in the form of human being named Naaraayan and He created Bhaagavat in four shlokas and gave Hari Naam to the human race.

(b) In kaliyug (present era) Shreemanta Shankardev is the only Mahaapurush who established, propounded and propagated the Ek Sharan Hari Naam Dharma in multifacet, well desciplined and well planned way. Therefore, in present era, Shreemanta Shankardev is the religious preceptor or Guru of Ek Sharan Hari Naam Dharma.

(c) Ek Sharan Hari Naam dharma is based on four pillars, eg. gyaan, vigyaan, tadanga and rahasya. The disciples Maadhavdev, Daamodardev, Haridev,
