The rhythm Payaar (8+6) – It contains two numbers of syllables. First syllable contains eight alphabets & the second contains six alphabets.e.g.
Trailokyaka aakramilaa / charanara gati |
Taju Paadodake Gangaa/ bhailaa utapati ||
Other rhythms are Duladri (6+6+8), Chhavi (8+8+10), Kusum maalaa (6+6), Jnhamak (6+8), Jhunaa or ekaavalee (6+5), Hangsamaalaa (6+6+6), digaksharaa (4+6), Paachaalee (6+6+6+6) & Jhumuraa (4+4).
Shankardev composed the Sanskrit dev Bhatima “madhu daanava daarana deva varang | Varavaarija lochana chakradharang II” in the rhythm trotak. The two penultimate alphabets of the first line and first two alphabets of second line are the same. Here see the two alphabets “vara” of Hindi or Asameeyaa language. Besides that different scholars of the world like Dr. William L. Smith, IAS officer C.D. Tripathi, Prof. Amalendu Chakravarty, Dr. Lakshmi Prasaad Paraaijuli, Shilpee Roy, Dr. Maheswar Neog, Lakshminaath Bejbaruaa, Dr. Sanjeeb Borkaakoti etc. have done extensive research oriented work on the composition of Shankardev. So the scholars who have analysed on the composition of Shankardev and studied about his technique of using the rhythms & ornaments, they will definitely feel that Jagat Guru Shreemanta Shankardev is the best of the bests laureate for all ages. There are many literary rhythms like anupraas, antyanupraas, shrutynupraas, brityanuprass, chhekaanupraas, laataanupraas, shlesh, upamaa, poornopamaa, rupak etc. which Shankardev applied in his compositions with the ability of super genius person. Obviously His Holiness is the super genius for all time. In the composition of Shankardev it has been seen that all the words of his compositions behave like the obedient pupils and this extraordinary ability has established Shankardev as the preceptor of world-literature and cultural. He is really Jagat Guru.

Shreemanta Shankardev established a fundamental stream in Indian culture with rare characteristics through the creations of songs-dance-musical instrument and literature.
