Satye nei urddhaka asatye adhogati|
hena jaani satyaka raakhibe karaa mati|| (262)

The truth leads to development and the untruth to downfall;
so, for nourishment of the truth, do the needful. (262)

(18) SERVICE TO GUEST
atithika nedi kibaa karili bhojana|
sijila paateka kibaa agamyaagamana|| (748)

it’s the sin comitted which is like the man purvereted. (748)

Durjanara hena kenaya charitra

he catch hold one’s feet and reach the shoulder;
in no time he deceives
and cries holding neck thereafter. (847)

Mota chitta diyaa jito jana mahaashaya|
haani apamaana dukha shokaka sahaya||
tare naama kshmaa aave jaanibaa uddhava|
kshamaavata purusara naahi paraabhava|| (216)

The virtuous who does think of me (God) in his core of mind,
and tolerates dishonour, sadness, lamentation indeed;
it’s called forgivness, know it o’ uddhava;
therefore the man with forgivness faces no defeat. (216)
