জগত গুৰু শ্ৰীমন্ত শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ অমৃত সিদ্ধান্ত
4) “ One Braahmin of baanaarash
carried the scripture Bhaagavat;
and He came to Jagannath Kshetra
to read the Bhaagavt
In front of Jagannaath.
Jagannaath (God Krishna) said to the Braahmin in dream,
“Listen to me, O’ the Braahmin,
Shankardev dwells at Bardowaa village
in the State of Asam.
Read the Bhaagavat in front of Shankardev
I am telling you that
there is no difference at all
between Shankardev and Me (Krishna).”
After rising from sleep,
the Braahmin said to himself
that Jagannaath ordered him
to go to the state of Asam.
N.B. – The above cited Braahmin was Jagadish mishra of Baanaarash in the state of U.P.. He came to Shankardev and read the Sanskrit Bhaagavat. Shankardev said to Jagadish Mishra that he already translated sanskrit Bhaagavat into Asameeyaa language. Jagadish Mishra went on reading the sanskrit Bhaagavat and accordingly Shankardev went on analysing the scripture. (Taken from Biography of Shankardev composed by Raamcharan Thaakur the scholar of Shankardev’s period. The name of the biography is Shankar Charit by Raamcharan Thaakur in old Asameeyaa language & translated into english by the author of this book.)
6) “Shreemanta Shankardev is the rare
creator of revolutionary culture and
there is none like Him not only in India
but also in the world.”
(Mentioned by Rupkowar Jyotiprasad Agarwaal in his article ‘Natunar Poojaa’ and translated into english by Dr. Bhooyaan the author of this book.)
7) “The scripture Keertan Ghoshaa, Dasham &
Naamghoshaa should be our glory;
and dramas, krishna Naam & Bargeet
should be the weapon for war;
and his (Shankardev’s) life and activities
should be the infinte source of power for Asam.”
(A lyric composed in Asameeyaa language by Kalaaguru Bishnu Raavaa & translated into english by Dr. Paraag Bhooyaan)
