15) Veda is the oldest written scripture in the world. It has three parts, the bhakti kaanda, karmakaanda and gyaankaanda. The last part of veda is known as upanishad which is related to gyaanyog or gyaankaands. Upanishads are known also as aaranyak or vedaanta. The Rik Veda is related only with the bhakti yoga and the only way of worshipping to God was the ‘Prayer’ (Praarthanaa or praising with words the glory of God). Actually the yagya described in Rik-Veda was the ‘Maanas Yagya’. Maanas Yagya is defined as the yagya in which there is no any need of articles for yagya to be performed. In Shaankhyaayan aaranyak (10/1) yagya is defined as “Maanasa Agnihotra” – “aadhyatmikam aantaram agnihotraaya.”
The words like agni, ghrita etc. were used to perform yagya. The meaning of the symbolic word “agni” is the flames of the will, the divine force burning up within the soul. The word ghrita denotes the clearfied mental consciousness and enlighted consiciousness of human being. But the matter of regret is that the true path had been deviated by the influence of Braahmatantra & Braahminised rituals. Shree Krishna in his ‘Geetaa’ doctrinised the dharma of veda in the following way –
“Yagyaanaang Japayogyohasmi” (Geeta 10/25).
Therefore, the dharma prescribed by the scripture veda is the listening and singing the glory of God which is called Naam-Keertan.
That is why Shreemanta Shankardev prohibited yagya, braahminised rituals, idolatry and established ‘Eka Sharan Hari Naam Dharma’ which is based on listening & singing the glory of God.
(Mentioned by great Bengali Scholar Dr. Amalendu Chakravartee in his research article named “Is the Eka Sharan hari naam Dharma against the principle of Veda?” Dr. Chakravartee is the Profession, Dept. of Bengali language, Gauhati University).
16) Krishna soorya Bhailanta Udita|
Naam Dharma Karilaa Vidita ||
(Shankardev mentioned in the scripture “Keertan-Ghoshaa”)
Its translated into english will be –
Krishna is the rising Sun on the Earth;
and He made the “Naam-Dharma” well known to all.
The scripture Paancharaatra-tantra was launched & propagated by Devarishi Naarad and he mentioned about gods and goddesses in the following way –
“Ganesha shesha Brahmesha dineshapramukhaah suraah|
Kumaaraadyaashcha Munayah Siddhaashcha kapilaadayah||
Lakmee Sarasvatee Doorgaa saabitree Raadhikaa paraa|
bhaktyaa namanti yang shashvattang namaami Paraatparam||”
Its meaning – “Devarishi naarad said that ganesg, Ananta, brahmaa, Soorya & Shiva are the main gods (deva). Sanatkumar & others are the Sages & Kapil & other are the scholars and lakshmee, Sarasvatee, Doorgaa, Saavitree, Raadhikaa are the goddesses (devee) and all of them bowed &
