32) “This is perhaps the most flagrant instance of what can be done by an unscrupulous priesthood. Here have thousands and thousands of lives been sacrificed and a fanatical rebellion being threatened on the authority of passage which was mangled, mistranslated and misapplied.” (Max Mullar, German Scholar in his selected essays, Vol-1)
33) In the middle part of fifteenth century, there was a land lord named Kangsanaaraayan Khaa in the taaherpur Bhooyaan raajya in Bengal. In that Raajya there was a poet named krittibaas who translated the Sanskrit Raamaayan into bengali language. Krittibaas mentioned that Shree Raam perfomed doorgaa pujaa in order to Kill Raavana. By doing this, Krittibaas distorted the original Sanskrit Raamaayan. But the sage vaalmiki mentioned in his sanskrit Raamaayan that Shree Raam Recited only the aaditya stotra (Soorya mantra). This is the example of how the Sanaatan dharma was distorted in the composition of Bengali poer Krittibaas. Moreover the scholar Sukumaar Sen mentioned that except few lines, the krittibaasee Raamayan is completelt delinked from the Vaalmiki Raamaayan and this was ststed by the Scholar Dr. W.L. Smith in his compostion named “the Ramayana traditions in Eastern India-Assam, Bengal & Orrissa.” Dr. W.L. Smith stated that the subject of Doorgaa puja performed by Raama is completely an imagninary description made by Krittibaas. Because this subject was not at all mentioned in original sanskrit Raamaayan and other regional languages like Raamaayan translated by Shreemanta Gosvaamee Tulseedaas, Raamaaayan translated into asameeyaa (Assamese) by Maadhav Kandali & so on. 34) श्रीमन्त शंकरदेव के योगदान एवं उपदेश समाज एवं हर वर्ग के लोगों को एक मंच पर एकत्रित एवं संगति करने तथा कृषि, वनस्पति, उद्योग, धर्म, चिकित्सा और आध्यात्म द्वारा आधुनिक विज्ञान के साथ सामन्जस्य बनाने का प्रयास किया था। उनका उदय उस सूर्य के समान हुआ जो अन्धकारमय समाज में ज्ञान ज्योति प्रकाशित करके तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय वाक्य को साक्षातकारित किया था।
